One of the greatest singers, ever and a genius at vocally interpretating lyrics.
The man who could sing a phone book and make you feel he was singing something very important and personal to you.
He sang each song differently every time and his interpretations are based on two things – how he felt and his life experiences. Sinatra would phrase things based on how he was feeling at the time or how he sensed the audience was feeling. Sinatra refined enunciation, exploring the beauty of vowels. The voice itself was superb, distinctive and beautiful. Almost flute like in the early years and dark woody in the later
“the songs that I sing and their lyrics are never close to me in my own life, despite what some people think… I try, when I interpret a lyric, to make each person in the audience think he or she is the only person in the world. I try to project to every person individually.”
A very very difficult problem, the selection, most of these are personal to db.
With a few popular gems to help the ride.
